2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission locking tailgate using ignition key....does it exist?

Greetings all,

Does a locking tailgate with the ability to use the truck's ignition key exist? Has anyone used it with any success? Any issues?

I don't think so, I never saw an OEM locking tailgate on a 2nd gen. I put an aftermarket one on though that uses its own key of course. Works okay with my bed topper. Genos Garage has the Bully brand lock for $20, mine has been on for years now. I've never seen nor heard of a tailgate lock with the ignition key. I have one which has a separate key. It's worked great since the truck was new, knock on wood.

Not on an '02 that I know of, but the new ones lock with the power door locks.

They do offer a lock cylinder for the Dodge key, just not the lock for the tailgate.
