Installing a Jordan in an 03

SERIOUSLY!< lets talk about weight

When applying the brakes while towing my 5th wheel I will have no trailer brakes, then all of a sudden my trailer brakes will grab and lock up. It's like it needs time to think about it first. I replaced the wire harness receptacle on the trailer, but have towed without incident until the other day. I tried re-leveling the brake controller and it still grabs and locks up. Any suggestion?

You didn't tell us what brand and model brake controller you are using. That is a likely suspect.

You said you replaced the "wire harness receptacle on the trailer. " I'm assuming you mean you replaced the towing harness and the male connector on the trailer. They usually are installed as a complete unit with the male connector molded onto the harness. If you replaced the entire harness and connector that should elimate any concerns as long as the connections that attach the harness to the trailer wiring are clean and tight. The other end, the harness and female connector on the rear of your truck could also be a problem if the wiring or connector has been exposed to moisture and corrosion or has bent or dirty contacts.

My first wild guess would be the brake controller.
