Lockjaw Auto-Adjusting Locking Pliers?

Has anyone tried these?

I think vise grips are useful. Someone bought me the Sears Auto-Lock version several years ago and they are HORRIBLE. I used one of them once and haven't touched them since.

But today at the welding supply shop they had a pair of these Lockjaw's and they actually seemed to work well. I think they might be quite useful when welding.

Unfortunately, I don't believe they're US-made.

They're offshore, but the Matco guy who comes to the shop tells me they offer a lifetime warranty. Says that on their page, too. Be interesting to see how they work it.

Anyways, I use a 9" pair of needle-nose Vice Grips for heavy truck brake springs, and am waiting for Lock-Jaw to come out with a set that big to try out.

They will not stand up to daily use. A welder or a bodyman renders them useless in 4 to 6 months. A plain ol' Vise Grip is tough to beat.
