During the summer towing I wondered a few times if my lockup clutch was slipping, now I have good reason to believe it is. Was towing the 5th wheel this morning (6,000lb), clutch engaged as usual, went to 10 lb boost and the rpm climbed 300 or so and the truck shuddered light to moderately. Very quickly I let up on the pedal, the clutch stopped slipping and all was OK as long as I stayed under 10 lb boost.
Am I looking at a clutch/torque converter replacement and is it safe to drove occasionally without towing until I have the $ to fix.
Thanks in advance.
