Has anybody out there converted their transmission to a later model lockup converter? If you have, do you have a wireing diagram for this process? I am planning on a cummins conversion on a late 60's power wagon and want to use a lockup transmission,94-97. Any help will be great! Thanks!

Depend's on what trans you use you can also use 2 toggle switches for the trans yes it can be done but how much Money do you want to spend ?

Want to keep things as simple as possible. The less electronics the better. No computer at all. Maybe even a full manual valve body just like in my mopar hot rod.

Yep, I have converted several of them. Easiest thing is use a 47RH, that way you don't have to mess with any computers or a manual VB. The RH is a much simpler system with just 3 wires needed for lockup and OD, 1-2 and 2-3 are all hydraulic. If you are not wanting to use any electronics then it will be 2 toggle switches to implement OD and lockup. The 47RH was used from 94- early 96.

After mid-year MY96 you will get intot he RE series that requied a computer to run the gov pressure, or, a manual VB to get around it. The plug is bigger but the wiring is the same, 2 toggles for OD and lockup.

For what you are going an RH would be the best choice for its simplicity and stength. All the good parts, billet shafts, steel planetaries, etc, are avaiable for it also.

Sweet thanks for the info! I have an RE transmission but don't want to mess with the electrical. I will look for an RH transmission.
