Log on has changed?

Logged on two times today, and had to go to the pull down Discussion Forums to get the "View new posts".



It has always appeared on the left side of the home page in a small box saying last time on, get new posts, etc. , which I just used click on.



Also, occassionaly when I attempt to go to the next page, it only partially comes up, with the bottom showing the choices for color background, and missing a good number of threads. If I go back and retry a few times, it'll come up like it should.



I'm sadly on a dial-up if that makes any difference. Thanks

Me too. I've logged on from different PCs. At first I thought maybe some cookie got wiped, but not on 3 different PCs? I am able to login from the forum page, but the front page is full of non-member advertising, with no login control. Even after I'm logged in, if I hit the Home link, it goes to the non-member home page.

Nope... I have HS Comcast... . same scene on the home page... . I am using the "Get Last Days Posts" to get the recent stuff...

We have changed the software that we use to handle the front page news, etc. If you look around on there you will see a lot of new stuff. There are now blogs, news items, and articles. You can make comments on the blogs and articles.

Unfortunately one loss for now has been the ability to have the login on the left side of the screen and to check for member status to give different info on that screen. If you go to anything that requires you to be logged in it will prompt you for a login. You can also login on any of the forum pages at the top of the screen. The view new posts and view last days posts under the discussion forums menu is the exact same function as what was on the left hand side of the front page - if you get used to using it from there you will always find it in the same place as that top menu is identical across the entire site. In the future the new software we are using is supposed to be integrated with vBulletin and that will allow us to bring back those features on the front page. I will also be looking at a quick and dirty way to make the login work on those screens as soon as I get a chance.

Getting the new software up and running has been a priority so that we can start getting better current information out there for you as well as offering a place for the blogs (check em out - there's some hilarious stuff in there). We are working on a number of new features for the site and will be rolling them out as I get them done (my to do list is about a page and a half long right now).

For now the front page is identical for members and non-members so you won't be able to tell if you are logged in there or not. If you do not specifically log out you will automatically be logged into the site when you come here as long as when you login you check the remember box (or use the login at the very top of the screen).

24V-dsl - absolutely nothing has changed on the any of the forum pages so if your getting partial page loads there something else is going on.

and on dial up that button is a lifesaver ...

Point your mouse pointer at the word discussion forums at the very top of any page on the site. A drop down menu will appear and you'll see view new posts on that menu - it's the second menu item down.

and i never noticed it in the drop down menu ...



kinda like the time all my freinds and i sat down to watch boon dock saints the first time and i announced to everyone "allright Willem Dafoe, one of my favorite actors ... ":-laf

No, it didn't change anything on the forums in any way. But it does look like the DNS server we've been using has gone down for some reason. I'm working on it now.
