I don't know why but I have too wait alot longer for the EGTs to cool down than normal. I have a MHAF since spring. Any thoughts or concerns? Oh it is normal range when driving, just cool down and the AC is not on either.

I think the engine compartment heat gets transfered to the filter too much when sitting still. In turn heating your aircharge up. The higher the temperature of the air going in, the hotter you egt's will be. That's why i'm offing my BHAF.

Now don't take any offense to this if you already know but if you've had the AC on you have to turn the switch two positions away from AC to make it go off, if you just go to the position next to AC it will still make cold air. Also the defrost positions work the same. Are you still sure the AC is off? Do you have any type of shield around your air filter? With my BHAF I don't notice any difference in cool down times.

summer heat

Could it just be that the ambient air temp is much higher now then in the Spring and that is affecting cool down time?

I usually shut off the AC compressor about a minute from my destination and just vent outside air. Yes it does start to warm up the cab and yes you can smell the condensation in the AC vents evaporate. The main reason I do this is to dry out the vents to inhibit mold and mildew growth that can result from condensation accumulating in the vents. The other benefit is that less heat is getting pushed into the AC condenser, which sits in front of the turbo intercooler, and that has a down-stream effect of cooler EGT by the time I'm ready to shut down.

Before the BHAF and 4" exhaust, my manifold EGT rarely settled below 300 degrees, now it routinely settles below 300, even in the 110 degree weather.

I do not have a heat shield. This morning it was 60 degrees out and no AC or defrost. I have noticed this over a short time peord, well since I had to put another LP on last friday night. Now there is no way that would do it. When I pull into my alley I run 2ed gear at a idle, by the time I get into the garage it is below 300. Now I have to wait a minute to get there. I can see extra heat when the air temps are high but it has been cool lately.

I wondered if my resonator is plugged?
