First Submarine to Sink a Warship

Doc says nose goblins are good for you!!!

Who has the longets commute that they make in ther CTD.

I work for a construction company, recently they have been keeping me close to my house, so my commute is only about 40 miles.

After this job is over I am looking at a 85 mile-one-way commute. .

Definition- By COMMUTE, I am meaning, a drive to work, done on a daily basis. This is just to compare "apples to apples"

Just a cool little info session!!

54 miles usually 4 days a week sometimes 5. I miss the days when I was 8 miles from work. One time I lived two blocks from work, that was actually too close. 8-10 hours of my week are wasted driving in the stupid traffic.

On Edit: That's 54 miles one way, 108 miles per day.

I live 35 miles from work so I drive 70 + miles daily. I wouldn't trade my drive for a house in town anyday. It makes for a relaxing drive home after work.

50 miles one way, 5 days a week, and of course my play time driving in the mountains, it adds up!

But just for work, 100 miles a day, 5 days a week!

75 miles one way (150 round trip) from NH down to Mass. I take the old truck about once a week and the VW the other days.

Big difference between 18/20 mpg on the truck and 52-56 mpg on the Jetta.

I got one of them VW's Too! But at 52-56mpg you must not be putting your foot into it! Did you Bomb your EGR setting on the TDI? It will save you from having to clean your clogged intake later.

I used to compute around 25K per year plus throw in 10k per year for fun. My new job is 50 miles each way through phila traffic, so I take the train. 15 mile drive, 1 hour nap 2X per day ;)

Since working in Phila, I only put 10K miles on the new truck, that included a 2000 mile trip to disney world and a 1600 mile trip to Ga last summer.

I had a 75 mile, one way, commmute for about 8 months a couple of years ago.

The first hour was fine, but the last half hour was a killer.

I enjoy a nice 20 mile, one way, now.

63 miles one way, been doing it for 8 years now. The way fuel prices are going, retirement will be sooner rather than later.

right now it is a 30 mile one-way commute, but we are looking at moving so that I would have a 80-100 mile one-way trip. The bright side it is 17 times in a two month period. I also have the option of trading days so that I can work weekends and 48 hour shifts. Reducing the commute trips even more.

Longest was about a 60 mile round trip years ago, then had one truck that in 5 year period I only put 26,000 miles on that one, Thats when I had a company truck to drive. Now it's a 20 mile round trip to the work place. I'll second the extra sleep quote. Oo.

right now, i have a 25km [50km round trip] to work... if i buy my own home this year, that will probably increase to 35km each way, maybe a little more...

Up until a month ago I was commuting 90 miles one way to New Orleans every day, plus miles in NO for work purposes. It was common for me to rack up 230 miles a day from commuting and work. 180 miles a day, 5 days a week = 900 a week. That's also the reason I'm not working there anymore. When I asked for them to reimburse me for repairs since I was using my truck for work, they said no so I told them to FO.

Yea I used to do those long commutes at one time, up to 100 miles each way when working in the trades, but now I am about as short as it gets at 2 1/2 miles each way. Then it is into the county F150 for about 100 miles per day.
