I am still working truck order for First Husband. Want it to be a surprise. 3500 HO, natch. (After listening to my carpenter whinge and cry about towing a 7000 lb load with his beloved 6.4 HEMI I feel very good about my choice on the HO/Aisen combo. Carpenter is just crying and crying--this is after years of warfare with First Husband on purported superiority of the 6.4 Hemi. NOT! Can you say, "for sale?")

...Anyhoo...thought I would get my man (FH) the Longhorn interior, but this evening, when we were warshing his 2011 Cummins, he remarked that some of "the guys" on TDR complained about the Longhorn interior, said it did not wear well, blah blah blah. Does anyone out there have experience with the Longhorn interior? My other choice is the Limited in Indigo/Frost, but I am rebelling against the $4100 Limited Level 1 Equipment group, as I think the Longhorn Level 1 Equipment group is better value. What do you guys think about this? Be straight, as truck is ordered, and I may need to change.

Stick with LongHorn. Both of mine have been great. Current 15 leather is even nicer. Must be “Corinthian Leather”. :D

love the instrument panel of the LongHorn.

My 15 Longhorn looked excellent in and out after 97,000 miles and pulled a 43 ft 5th wheel through all of the lower 48 states. Just saying ;-)>

Isn’t the Limited the top of the line . I think my son wants the limited , aren’t they the nicer of the two on the interior?

One thing that is annoying about the Longhorn or Limited trims is the mandatory 5 person seating. I really like having 6 seats and don’t like the feel of the console on the 5 person seating.

I’d be more interested in a trim above Laramie if I could get the front bench.

I considered that. The full console on our 2011 NOHO is all of that--full. However, they have tapered the console a little, so there is a bit more leg room. The bucket seats are substantially more comfy too, compared to the 40-20-40. Honestly, I prefer to have the limited for First Husband, but I know he wants the sound system so he can listen to his music. Can't get comfy with $4100 for sound, and really prefer not to have all the other tech stuff they bundle with it. Why bother with ordering if Ram is going to tell you what to buy. Somebody must talk me into the Limited Level 1 Equipment $4100 Group...I am stuck. This truck is a bit more urban, suits my man better. Longhorn is beautiful with boots, you know what I mean?

The bucket seats in my dads 17 are nowhere near as comfy as the “bench” seat in my 18. His is a big horn but the seat feel is more than just that, I think the seats must be different bucket vs bench, even thou the “bench” uses buckets too.

Not a big fan of either grill but I would choose the LH with the simple lines.

I can tow a long day without having “MonkeyButt”

Yes,.. Limited was the top model until 18', (there was Laramie and Laramie "Longhorn" below it) but I think the Longhorn guys felt undersold :D:D.... So now its the Limited "Longhorn" Only real difference is do you want saddle seats with buckles etc.. or more subtle urban seats that don't have all the extra "stuff"..... My limited (in black) has all the same stitching of a longhorn and none of the cowboy colors but that is my preference. And it is by far the most comfortable vehicle I have ever drove. Otherwise most features are common if you get down to the brass tacks and compare line by line... sans the grille, not sure if the Longhorn has the active headlights? Was interesting the first night I drove it and the headlights turned to "look down" the road with the steering wheel angle.......

I will say that if I was going to build one (order one), I might build a Laramie out only to get the brown color and save a few dollars as you can (I would) outfit it almost the same and for about 5k less.
