I Bought this buggy from a private person and it ran and everything but we needed to make it more for us.

Here is the dash I made. It shows red on the pipe, this pic was done before the buggy was painted,... .

The motor is a 1600cc with single carb. I replaced the Points system with a Magnetic sensor and disk. It works real good.

All I had to do on the motor is tune-up and rebuild the carb, replaced the valve covers with the bolt on type. replaced the spark plugs and wires and then painted the buggy.

Thanks!

I have a 36' toyhauler and the rail will go in the 12' garage and the rhino I have will go on the utility trailer I have and so I will be 71' overall.

So here is where the rhino will ride and in the state of Utah, the double hook you see above is Legal because the trailers are under 61' when connected. .

Hey guys,

help me and my Fiance' think up a name for this buggy. . I thought Blue Hornet sounded neat but she said it sounded too common. . what names can you think of?

You have to sing it to make it sound right, but my vote for a name is...

Saaan Diego Suuuper Chargers, Saan Diego Suuper Chargers... .

Your going to have a blast in that thing. I've found that the less you spend on a project, the less you have to worry about breaking it, and the more you can enjoy it.

Just a word of caution... You'll definately want to hold onto the 5 pt harness with your arms crossed, and keep your limbs away from the roll cage. It's good practice to have your passanger ride around like that, even when your just cruising. When/if something happens it will be 2nd nature to "grab yourself" not the roll bar. I'll be investing in wrist restraints for my rail next season.

the chargers. . ha!. . that's funny! . . I am a fan of chargers by the way. . used to live in El Cajon.

got another name. . Flaming Hornet. . one detail you can't see is a flame stripe stickers on a few of the bars. .

thanks for the tip on grab the harness and not the bar. . not going to ride hard or jump. . but yes you never know. . and its a 4 point not 5. .

I have some MT tires for this when on hard trails like baja style and maybe some sand mixed in. these are C rated tires 31". . what pressure would do good all around? 20? 30? the front implement rib tires are at 20 psi. .

Just a couple of suggestions after years and years of rails and quads and what not. First, get the anti-sub strap for the harness. The problem with a 4 pt system is that in a hard hit, the shoulder harness can pull the lap belt up into the gut and cause internal injuries. The anti-sub strab will keep the lap belt where it belongs and really allows you to crank down the harness the way it should be and still be comfortable. Just my . 02 Also, IMHO, arm restraints are a great idea. Most people i have seen injured in the dunes in rails, have been broken hands/arms because of the exact scenario described above. I also used a "horseshoe" neck collar that my shoulder straps went through. A lot of guys dont like them because they are a little restrictive, but i wouldn't be without it. Neck was a lot less sore after a weekend of hard duning. then again, I do have a big ol floppy rubberneck. :-laf

Also, keep an eye on those bolt on valve covers, they have a habit of coming loose and leaking. I have a fully balanced and bluprinted/injected 86mm/90. 5 Gene Berg motor waiting in the garage for a home. I want another rail, too bad all the good duning spots around here are under attack.

BTW, looks good man, you are guaranteed to have lots of fun in that baby.
