My new to me Rubicon. I couldn't get ahold of anyone early on a Saturday morning to drive the 100 miles to pick it up, so had to rent the hauler. Hope my truck doesn't get mad for having to share the bombing money now.

Nice Ruby, my wife bought a 2005 brand new, she loves it. Just an FYI, there is a green wire with a yellow stripe behind the radio, that if you ground it, you are able to lock the differentials independently and in high range :D . Jess

It's an '04 with no scratches or dents. Has a Banks exhaust system and a touqe tube on the intake. Seems like it must have been a pavement princes. On the first test drive managed to scrape the back bumper afew times.

Thanks for the tip on the lockers. I heard something about that on one of the jeep sites. In 1993 I bought a new Cherokee and within a month took it to a shop in California that replaced the rear end with a true 44 and one of the first ARB's. That thing would out crawl my old '82 CJ5 with Detroit Locker.

First things are a lift and new tires. Has new streets on now.

Congrats on the Rubi.

I went the other way. Bought the Dodge to pull the Jeep. Had to share lift kit money with the Bomb fund.

The cummins didn't like the 2 mile drive to work every morning for six years in the winter. So I decided to give her a rest and have some fun on the weekends.

wcjp, nice looking ride in the snow. We are supposed to have a wet winter so I may get to try that out.

I'd say... . what kinda street tires are on that thing??? :-laf

nice find thou, you'll love it... the few I wheel with go VERY well, even in stock form... . :D

Nice!!! Enjoy the Jeep.

I sold my heavily built Rubi and my old gasser truck and bought the ram.

My Fiance and I went from having 4 Jeeps to one... in the last year we sold our built 01 XJ, Built 03 Rubi , 98 5. 9 Limited ZJ, and we kept the backhalfed XJ tube buggy.

Wish I had kept the rubi, but I'm gearin gup for my next build... LJ Rubi.

That's the first question I asked... Who put standard M/S tires on a Rubicon? Figured rather than hasle about it I could buy a set of what I want and sell the tires and rims to make enough money to buy some nice bumpers. Finally decided that for my needs a 2" lift and 32's will be enough. Now it's just having to decide witch brand to go with.

I remember saying that once or twice. :-laf BTW before my divorce I had a Khaki 03 Rubicon on 33's I loved that Jeep. I couldn't bring my self to beat on it too hard off road though. I beat on my YJ incessantly. It makes me look much better than I am! :D

the cheapest, yet effective way, to do this is:

2" spacers

1" bodylift + 1" motormount lift

IMHO that's a great set up for a TJ :)

I am looking into the spacers also. Not a bad way to go. You are right Iwant1, every time I see a jeep go by with a 4" lift and 33's it just looks sweet.

While tire shoping I found that the 16" tires where more pricey than the 15's. Would the 15" rim be a better way to go?

yup, if they will fit... . when you take your next step and go bigger your tires will be cheaper and perform better... .

Nice looking jeep, bellyscraper. My wallet is screeming already, tires... wheels... bumpers... winch... highlift... racks. Alittle at a time over the next few years. Now back to the tire shops.

Pete my Rubicon looked that good when I picked it up used with only 1400 miles on it, 100% pavement queen that was traded in to a Benz dealership. Oh how things have changed. :D
