Looking at a 2004

I'm getting ready to go look at a 2004 Quad Cab 3500 dually and I'm wondering if it has the 600 series CTD. The VIN is 3D7MU48C54G122243. Dealer has no idea and it's a fair distance away.

Tell the idiot to look at the tag on the valve cover on the engine, tells you right there how much HP it has.

If they can't see the valve cover, they should be able to look up the build date. After Jan 1 2004 it's a 2004. 5 with 325hp.

the 555 (305 hp) has no catalyst, just one muffler.
