I'm in the midsts of build a 1st gen that I'm just trying to see how much power I can get out of it. I'm keeping it rotary and this is my first really big venture into doing some major performance upgrades on these things. I'm just curious as to what I need look/ask for when I go to buy a cam. And who should I look into for getting one.

Thanks in advance Chase

I think PDR is the only one who makes an off-the-shelf cam for our trucks. from what I have read, a cam can make the difference between having the air to burn the fuel, or being EGT limited in your HP goals.

I think 700hp is doable with a VE, injectors, turbo(s), cam, head porting, etc. Not cheap, but 700hp with a p-pump was done like 6 or 8 years ago; no big deal.

Watch out you dont get caught up between our favorite Californian and Hoosier's battle  ;)

I got mine from PDR, I found others available at twice the price but passed as I could not find any ##'s to justify the difference. I just trusted PDR as I couldn't find any specs as to lift, duration, angle, or anything like that.

I need lots more toys to bring the cam to life though. I replaced it when I had the motor out. It is a lot easier to do if the motor is upside down. :)

More toys later??
