Looking at an '07 with the 6.7...Anything to look for?

Looking at a 2007 loaded mega cab. The ad says 5 speed auto. Is this correct?I thought all the 6. 7's came with the 6 spd auto. I haven't went to look at it yet,but had a couple questions on what "problem areas" to look at. It has 30000 miles,and they're asking $39,000. is this a good price? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is this an 2007. 5 or a 2007? The 6. 7L engine was introduced as a 2007. 5 in Jan of 07 and this had the 6 speed Auto. The 2007 truck was built between Aug and Dec 06 with the 5. 9L engine.

As far as what to look for,I would make sure that this has the latest fast for the 07. 5. Since i have an 08 I am not sure what the 07. 5 is. Do a search on the 6. 7 to find out the latest.

Price wise I think this might be high I paid 38+ taxes for mine in Nov. 07

I just bought an 09 4x4 crew cab long bed with 3 miles on it for a little over $35000
39k is a little steep for a used truck IMO, but the Mega cabs are still kind of expensive.
I would look at autotrader or Ebay and see what others are going for with the same options this one has and if possible, I would see if I could contact original owner to see if truck had problems or power upgrades that could void warranty first.

I've noticed that the dealers/DODGE have purposely deleted stock of HD,s (used or new) on the lots in an effort to help sell the new 2010HD,s on there way, which will raise the prices of whats left. But the price you gave is way too high, and if it was me I would wait for the 2010HD's. Even if you don't want a 2010, the older MY prices will fall fast, when they start selling them.

I would be carefull buying a used '07. 5 or '08 with the 6. 7L. Have your local dealer run the VIN to see how many service records there are on the truck. I bought my 08 used, and I did a lot of research and looking before I settled on the truck that I bought.

$25,000 is auction price, have you looked at loan value lately vs retail, you can buy new and not have a 1th generation 6. 7 for that kind of money, buy a NADA book and see for yourself. Sounds like a good deal for the Car dealer not ypu.

I bought my 2009 slt 4x4 quad cab with only 600 miles on it for $28,000. The original window sticker was almost $49,000,But that isn,t the norm used price,I got a good deal. It makes me like the truck even more.

Got a letter in the mail today regarding a class action lawsuit from a law firm in
Texas. It was for 2007's specifically. All problems are associated with the 6. 7's.
Personally I'd look for a 5. 9 L. as they appear to be increasing in value, primarily
because of the 6. 7 problems.
