This is a TRUE STORY!!

My kid and his buddy were out "cruising" on our country roads last weekend, hit a washout going WAY too fast... . and BENT, yes BENT the front axle assembly on a 2005 RAM 2500 4*4 quadcab CTD... . in addition, the impact BROKE the drivers side rear leaf spring loop on the assembly towards the front of the vehicle... ... ... . I THINK I have 3. 73 ration but am checking:

QUESTIONS:

1. How do I accurately confirm what my axle ratios are?

2. Any ideas on Salvage yards in the PNW area to get an intact front axle asembly (including brakes etc... plug and play) as well as a drivers side rear leaf spring assembly?

Any help greatly appreciated, an inspecting vehivle now as I suspect new front coil springs, shocks and a few other front susp parts will be needed as well... .

Bending the AAM front housing is not rare. I lost track on how many I have sold. The rear spring not so common.
send me the last 8 of the vin I can tell you what gears it has

Thanks for the info, last 8 of VIN # (5G701848)

Can you elaborate more on the AAM? It appears to be bent on the drivers side of the pumpking but in the other side it appears gear lube is leaking out... .

AMM is American Axle Manufacture. I believe that in about 2003 Dodge switched from Dana Axle to American Axle Manufacture. I don't know if AMM is any better than Dana. I'm still partial to Dana.

When the axle housing bends the inner seal will be damaged and leak. When you get the hub brg removed you can see where the axle is sitting in relation to the tube-how badly it has been tweaked.

i did near the same when i was young.
I feel asleep and hit the end of a culvert pipe head on, the single cab chevy got about 4-6 feet of air, at 50 mph and roughly 30 linear feet. Bent all frt steering assembly and bent frame where cab and bed meet (front corners of bed put half dollar size dents into the cab below rear window) and ripped off a rear mount for the shock, and the frt air dam!

I finished driving it 4 miles to get home (very screwed up steering)
(had to tell brother i totaled his truck. i only barowed it for a day!

Insurance gave him $ 6k for a 8 yr 240K on odometer v-6 (really near 380K) He came out like a bandit!! it was barley worth$ 2k

Ya, Bending an AAM isint even a bragging right anymore, there pretty weak. I doubt you need coils, shocks may be blown out or may be ok, I have seen trucks with 6k in front suspension (King 3's, hydro bumps, springs and what not) bend axles, and ive seen trussed axles still bend at the upper knuckles. Basically they are weak but it doesnt mean any other front end components are bad.
