I think this is a good source.

I bought all new LED lamps for my CM bed after buying it with the standard incandescent lamps and changed them over myself. I bought them from SouthWest Wheel at very good prices. I would try them first as their prices usually beat most suppliers on things they carry.

Harvey(Hi Harvey) and I have talked about this, we tried these in most of our trucks when they came out... and we later removed them and replaced them with standard sealed units again... .

In the winters where we travel, the snow dust piles on the back of our flat beds and trucks... regular lights throw off enough heat to keep the snow and ice off in the winter and you can always see them... . For us it was more important to be seen in the winter... BTW - we've found that in less than 10 miles with the right wind, and snow the whole back of the truck can be and issue.....

Harvey is pulling in southern states where ice and snow is not a problem... . We also had problems with LED'S not drawing enough current and we'd get a lamp out dash indicator with the LED's.

I just changed an 05 over to a flat bed. . I should post a photo or two... . anyway... that's our point of view... You don't share where your from..... so I just needed to chime in...

Hope this helps...

I don't disagree w/Jelag regarding the lack of heat generated by LEDs. If I was still transporting trailers on ice and snow in the Pacific Northwest I wouldn't have changed over to LEDs but those are only fond memories now. I live where if we get a snow day it is a big deal . . . for one day only.

Im actully using them for the front of my wrangler since it has tube front fenders and no longer has a location for blinkers. So im going to put them in the grill under the head lights. Thank you guys very much
