i want to get 500 hp! i have a comp box already and trans is done with the fuel system,

i am looking at stage 3 injectors? i think i want to stay with 1 Turbo for now, twins later so i want to get a Turbo that could be used with twins down the road if i wish! ? what one should i be looking at? or what else should i be doing?

keep in mind this is an everyday driver and i want to keep as much MPG as i can!

thanks for the info!!

I have set up several trucks for the 500 range. A combo that works well is B-1-2, drag comp, and Formula 1 mach 4 injectors. This combo should yeild the numbers you are looking for plus allow for the new turbo to be used in a nice twin setup.

Can 500 hp be achieved with a stock head gasket? What boost is needed for this? I want to keep mine under 40-42 psi, can these numbers still be achieved?

Yes, 500 HP can be done safely on a stock headgasket. The boost number itself is not as important as the ability to get good air in and out.

Graphic Man,

Stage 3 injectors will be a little small..... As mentioned above I personally prefer Formula 1 injectors. The Mach 4's should put you right where you want to be as far as HP is concerned. Also I would opt for the wastegated version of the B-1, getting air out is as important as getting it in.

You should be able to tow just fine. The Comp allows for tailoring the fueling level to the need. The B-1 turbo is large enough to keep things cool with the box on the lower settings.

Personally I prefer the standard B-1 because of the larger exhast housing. But most guys with auto transmission's like the B-1-2 due to having faster turbo spoolup. Either will work fine it would just be a person choice as to which is more important. I would also check out Piers as a good source for the B series turbos.

will the 4's be a bit much for the street also i do tow a little in the winter, 2 sleds, approx 3,000lb in total

these new Mach 4's are sweet, I just installed a set on Wednesday. Great horsepower and very low smoke and egt's are great.

I plan on towng a 10K+ 5er this years with the 4's

TST PowerMax3/remote,F1 EDM Mach 2. 5, ATS trans, and yes a small non gate 14cm housing on a PDR HX35 produced 475 hp for one of my customers. I think the dyno showed 1022 lbs of torque.

Yes the 35 is small for hard runs with this setup but once in a while it works. He runs around on level 3 and the egts are fine.

He also has one of those Mad ECM's that really get things going on the bottom end...

500 Hp

I installed Mach 4's a few weeks ago I believe they smoke less than the Mach 3's I replaced. They run very nice. Thanks Steve B.

Doug,

What happens if you take out the Comp box? Just wondering where a truck set up with your suggestions could be with no wire tapped thats all.

What then happens if you went to the Mad CaTCHER ecm?

Thanks!

Graphic Man: just hit the dyno a couple of weeks ago. made 3 passes and hit 480 at the wheels. I have a standard housing B-1 with an auto trans. all info in my signiture. I hit 54p psi at 1189 degrees. truck has 80,000 miles and about 55,000 are bombed with the stock head gasket. hope this gets you in the ball park.

With mach 4s, B1 wastegated turbo, edge drag box, DTT auto made 522hp 1107tq with stock bolts & gasket. My old mach 3. 4s and B1-2 made 493hp.

Crazygator,

As for running this setup with the pumpwire disconnected I am unsure of the HP..... I know my truck with a B-1 and Mach 6's and no box makes 433 RWHP. So by using a box but no wire and going with 4's I would think it would yeild around 400 HP but this is nothing more than a guess. The Formula 1 injectors were designed to be used with a fueling box. If you throw in a Catcher I really don't have any idea because I have zero experience with it.

Don~ and Marco will be working to put a package together CaTCHER and F1 Edm's 450HP with smoke control  and no wire tap :)

Stay tuned ;)
