looking for a #10 plate, have #6, (goal = 400hp)

i think i have decided i want to switch to a #10 from a #6, but should i put the #10 full forward, or stock location? btw, is there a trick to find the stock location, or to make sure the plate it square in the pump? does anyone out there want to trade me plates? if anyone is interested, i would pay shipping... . i have only had my #6 for about 2 months, i like the preformance, but i lost about 4 mpg over stock..... also, how can i find a good spot for my starwheel, and is there anything else i can adjust or change cheaply for good power, even though my truck has the "weak" pump... .

again... im looking for good power, and economy... . need suggestions... . cheap suggestions... .

i would consider even a 0 plate, if it can help. . heh

Thanks in advance

note: looking for good cheap power so i can enjoy, and afford an ATS TC and eventually stage IV.

note: My goal is 400HP, please help me on my way to meeting it.

note: this truck is also a daily driver.

i am guessing that this can be done with pump work, and probably injectors, and maybe a turbo upgrade, or housing change? does that sound about right, if so, which ones... .

I ran my star wheel all the way forward, worked reel good, and it's free. I also used the Turbo Master, { only $ 65. 00} it takes the place of the Waste Gate and is adjustible. With the mods. that i have i am running 36 PSI at WOT, just tag 1150 deg and get 16 to 19 MPG. My plate is slightly forward. Trans is doing good.

Mate the #10 plate with a set of 3K springs and it will be set, stock position is slightly forward from the middle, about . 060 forward from stock is optimal with this plate, also you need to bump your timing to 15-16 and your mileage will come back as long as your foot is out of it.

Plate, springs and timing should always go hand in had with a 12V, if one of these is not happening then your holding the reigns back.

i have the adjustable elbow that came with my plate, i get about 30 psi at wot in 4th gear. i hit 1300* egt at about 85, and it would keep climbing if i dont let off..... i moved my star wheel a few turns, but not too much, i wasnt sure how much was too much or anything like that.

I don't like my #6 plate either, and for the same reasons. (95 5spd). I bought mine from TST and they will swap for $50.

I am thinking about it. If you make the swap keep us informed.

from looking around it looks like i need 370 injectors, 191 DVs, and maybe a 16cm turbo housing, and i have 400 HP from my 160 pump... . are the DVs required? should i use a 6 or a 10 plate with this combo? am i right with what i will need to do this?
