I am in the market for a 2003 but am new to the area, I live in Durant OK I am looking for a dealer with no hassels I came from commifornia so Im a little tired of those games I want a straight up dealer that wants to earn a good customer I buy a new truck every 2 yrs my 2001. 5 has 50,000 on it I may trade it or sell it not sure it was my first dodge. Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated WIZ1 (thats my original screenname after I moved something happened now it won't work)

Dealers in OK & TX

I have purchased two trucks from McKinney Dodge (McKinney, TX). I ordered a '98. 5 24 valvie 4x4 when they first came out for $400 over invoice and took an '02 1500 QC 4x4 off the lot at invoice. I recently talked to Frontier Dodge in El Reno, OK and was pleased with their demeanor. In the current market they would order an '03 for $500 over invoice. I didn't try to negotiate because I am waiting for the HO and 48RE. They do have 5 '03 HO 6 speed 3500's on the lot.

I will second the recommendation for McKinney Dodge. I live in Plano and when I have to go to the Dealer, I drive to McKinney. Durant, Oklahoma! I own a trailer on Lake Texoma; Newberry Creek Marina. My wife and I go up there almost every weekend all year long.

Henson Dodge...............

... ... ... ... in Madisonville, Texas. Located off Int-45 just north of Huntsville. Bought my 99' there for $200 over invoice. No starting at sticker and working down. You walk in pick out a truck it's $200 over invoice (the invoice they showed me was actually cheaper than the invoice prices listed on the internet). Good people, will give them a call when I'm ready for my next truck.

Todd

There are 4 dealers that 'stack 'em deep and sell 'em cheap!

1. Mike Brown Dodge here in Granbury. Bob Martin is the Fleet guy and I just signed him up on the TDR. Neat guy and no BS. 1 800 657 8720 or email is -- email address removed --

2. Bossier Country in Fairfield, Tx. I have bought 2 trucks from them and have sent numerous customers to them including LOTS of TDR folks. Deanna Bennett(Giggles) is the contact there and she knows her trux. Her husband Johnny is the sales manager. 1 800 BOSSIER or -- email address removed --

3. Chapparal Dodge in southern OK. is also a volumn house dealer. I have never done biz with them.

4. Bonham Chrysler/Dodge in Bonham, Tx. is a huge volumn dealer.

So the choice is yours. The first two I gave you probably know more about dealing with TDR folks than anyone around these parts and will get to the "Bottom Line" so fast it will make your head swim. You have 800 #s on both the good ones so I would give them a call and just talk to them. Tell 'em I sent you.

When I bought my 2001 a couple of years ago, Mark Roberts at Bartlesville was offering $175 below factory invoice. MIke Quinn in Tulsa matched that price and threw in 10 free oil and filter changes. Their service has been very good on my previous Dakota, my wife's Grand Caravan, and my RAM. I haven't regretted doing business with Quinn one time in over 5 years. My 5th oil and filter change is scheduled for next Tuesday. 30 minutes while ya wait, by appointment, guaranteed.

Mike Brown Ford in Granbury

I bought my 2002 CTD from Mike Brown and was not particularly impressed. They tried and succeeded in screwing me on the price ( my own fault I'm sure) ; in addition, I had a poor experience with their service department on my one and only visit. The service writer told me when I got my truck back that they had noticed that I modified the blow by hose connection and they entered that info into the computer. Yes, I had modified the connection by removing the bottle and running the hose down and tying it off at the stabilizer bar. Anyway, I was disappointed after making a 40 mile trip.

The thing that really amused me was that my salesman told me that we couldn't go far in any of the trucks that I drove because they were low on fuel ( the warning lights were actually on in all the trucks). When I suggested that we add some fuel he said their diesel pump was out.

IS there a place on the TDR site that lists the dealers that give members discounts? As I am looking for one in Colorado.

TX OK Dodge Dealer

Another good dealer is Glenn Polk Autoplex in Gainesville, TX. They are located on I-35 just south of the OK/TX state line. Traveling past one morning pulling my trailer, I stopped in and told a salesman I was planning to buy a truck and was looking for an honest and fair dealer. I offered $100 over invoice on a 2001. 5 3500 HO/6 to a young salesman named Jason Rushing. He said, "sure, we'll do that, call me when you're ready". I actually live in Lubbock, TX. Several Dodge dealers in this area are owned by the same corporation. I wouldn't buy from them at any price.

A couple weeks later I called and told Jason I was ready to buy. The dealership went out and found the exact truck I wanted at another dealer 50 miles distant, did a dealer trade, installed the Cummins e-brake, serviced and detailed the truck, and it was sitting out front waiting for me to arrive late Friday afternoon. They didn't know me and had no contract, no check, no credit card, nothing, only my telephone request. The first thing Jason handed me when I arrived was a copy of the factory invoice confirming the invoice price of the truck. No games, no tricks, just friendly, honest folks.

On two occasions I have returned for service. The first time, a line mechanic installed an aftermarket high idle kit for me. The second time I visited, the temperature on the overhead computer console was reading a consistent +4 degrees. I arrived around closing time, too late for them to diagnose the problem. The service writer took my word that the sensor was bad, ordered it that evening, and installed it the next day in about 5 minutes.

I had to drive 300 miles for this kind of service but it is worth it. I highly recommend Glenn Polk Autoplex in Gainesville. I have no connection with that store other than the fact that I am a satisfied customer.

Bonham Chrysler(mentioned above as #4) is my choice. I have bought 2 trucks from them and, after striking out on getting good service in Dallas drive the distance to get excellent service. However, I now go to Greenville Chrysler because it is closer and is the same company. Bonham bought them out sometime back and operates the dealership giving the same service, although they don't have the truck inventory that Bonham has. You can deal on the phone with Bonham and be pretty sure they will have what they tell you they have and get the price you negotiated on the phone.

dealer

I would say go with bossier country. I was referred by barry and after a 20 min phone call i had a 2001 2500 4x4 w/everything but leather for $297500... she even gave me a week to shop and try to beat the price... absolutely no hassle

I also had a good experience at Bonham on my 2001. The wife wants a 2003 CTD for herself so I will be talking to them again soon!!

Good luck

Henson in Madisonville!!!!

Touted to be #1 volume truck dealer in Texas and #1 Cab and Chassis dealer in the US.

I am driving my 4th truck from them. Sales and service excellent.

Ask for Tim.

Mark Roberts

I'm going to echo BG Smith. Mark Roberts is where I bought mine. They didn't jerk me around and were cooperative. They shipped it to me in Chattanooga, TN - I've never even been to OK, so there was a lot of trust on my part there.

Henson Dodge. If I had bout mine from them, I would have saved an extra thousand. Almost everyone who are into Diesel trucks that I know, buy them from Hensons. Some people fly in just to pick the truck up from other states, and the savings more than pay for the flight.

Hey in Durant, that's really cool cause you're close to me. I couldn't find a better deal than Pilkilton Dodge in Denison when I bought my 2002 3 months ago. Talk to Fred Jr. and tell him Bryan sent you. They do everything off of orders only though, but know all the rebates and tricks like the $500 Farm Bureau thing, ect. And hey, I want to see your truck before you sell it. I've never had any first hand with modified cummins...
