I have a Short shift kit on order from Geno's, but they are back ordered a week or so:( So the question is while I sit and wait, how do the guys like them that have one:confused: Is 4th to 5th really easier?? Was it hard getting used to a new clutch timing (friction point)?? What about the install, any tips?? Thanks in advance, Oo. Sarge

Not bad

It is nice the shifter has less range of motion so it doesn't get in the way with things I have all around the shifter now and it is out of the my reach for the CB in 6 gear. It doesn't make me a super speedy shifter, ya know it is still a 6 spd but all in all I am glad I did it.

I love mine, it's a must do. I only wish it bent the stick a little farther over to the driver side. But much much better than stock IMHO

i really liked mine but decided that i'd rather allocate the funds to an exhuast brake so i'm trying to sell mine in the classifieds...

good improvement in shifting though...

Hey Phil. . ya need longer arms LOL :)

Would I do it again. . probably

worth the $$ . . no

overall impression. . 2nd to 3rd goes to 5th very easy . . [was not helped a bunch, goofy factory gaping ?]. . again it wasn't as good a clean up as I would have liked but better than factory stock.

friction point changed?

Maybe I am way off, but I don't see how a new shifter changes the friction point of the clutch? But is the shifter worth it?

Not really a "friction point" change, rather there is a certian timing to the shift and clutch point when shifing a long throw transmission. A significantly shorter throw would alter the timing of the clutch for a smoot gear change. ;)

Awww come on gary it's only money... You cant take it with you. Plus it's cool because it adds to your total bomb count. And we all know he with the most bombs wins, or something like that.

By the way my short da*n arms make it a real PITA to change factory lift pumps too. Thats half the reason why i put mine at the tank. LOL:D

I think it was worth it. I always shifted pretty quickly anyway, I don't have to try to shift fast now.

Just remember to torque those bolts to what it says. I had to do an involuntary fluid change because 80% of my transmission fluid ended up on I-5.

2 things if you are gonna locktite it use the blue stuff

its easier to get back apart if you ever need to

if you are having sealing problems go to your local dodge dealer and get a tube of anarobic sealer it is the best way to seal up

the manual trans. it is what i use when i rebuild them at work.

for genes chrysler here in fairbanks ak

I put the aluminum spacer on top of the rubber isolator and had leaks. (removed the kit after 3rd time)

It sounds like using the stock bushings and putting the spacer under the rubber part will seal better. (have not put mine back in yet)

I DO miss it though.
