I am looking for somewhere to purchase the 3 and 4 gauge dash pods that were available for the 1st gens. Yet everyone I speak with seems to say they are not around anymore. :{

Anyone know who the manufacturer was or where I can still by some? Making some more changes to the trucks! :D

Thanks!

Robert

I just bought a 2nd gen one and took the dremel to it. With a little work and some trim it looks good.

Are you looking for the A-pillar pods or the one that went on the dash?

JCWhitney has some universals that should be a pretty decent fit.

Glow Shift also has a 2 guage pod that is a direct fit.

The one that went on the dash disappeared about 6 years ago.

Banks may have a couple left over or maybe Autometer has them. Try going to Autozone or Checker and see if they can get a part number or a list of who made them.
If you can't find one then you might just have to modify one that's close or just get the universal gauge cups.

Manufacters seem to be Pro Pod, Banks and US Gear from what my memory serves and from what I have been told. All say no longer available. :(

I'd try Geno's Garage or NAPA.

Tried both. No luck. :(

I think the doubles are still available? Can you get two and graft??

Double on the dash???

I went to E-Bay to see if anyone had one of these pods and I found one for 98-02 Rams. It looks like it could be made to fit pretty easily.

Autometer # 15002.

It would take a little work, but could look nice.

Have you seen this thread? It's about 2nd gen pods in a 1st gen.

Is this what you are looking for?

I bought probably one of the last triple gauge pods for 1st gens from US Gear or was it Gear Vendors several years ago. The guy had to go digging but he found one for me. I sold it last fall to a local guy. Sorry Robert. :{ Shadrach

Yeah! Thats the one! Oo. I believe it was US gear.

I originally was looking for it in the 4 pod version so I could add more gauges. I currently run a 3 pod exacly like that. Was wanting to do more on the dash and if the 4 pod (also faintly remember a 5 pod too... ) was still available, I would just order up one of those puppies and that covers the 2 more gauges I need... .

In the event the 4 (or 5) was not available, I was going to just get another 3 as a replacment so if I needed it down the road and they decided to discontinue it, then I would have one. Guess I thought of that a few years too late! ;)

Yes, have studied that link alot. Might have to go that route if need be.

ANDY - No worries. Re-reading my posts I was not that clear in my wording.

US Gear sounds right. I had it listed in the classified last year. You might try PDR in Surrey to see if they have any left. Shadrach

So, I looked at Scheid, PDR, and US Gear's websites.

Nothing.

I missed the final verdict.

Does anyone currently sell a pod that will work without modification?

US gear never listed the 1st gen pod on their website IIRC. BTW the pods were never generation specific. it was the BASE that was custom/different per application. The top was universal.

I bought my 3 gauge first gen pod from US gear in 2005 (+ base) over tehphone, and they didn't have them listed on the website during that time either...

Yeah, I had also called Mark and he said it has been about 3 years since they have gotten them.

Maybe we need a group buy to convince US Gear... . ;)

Wow, looking back soo long ago, I can't even remember where I got my 4-gauge dash pod from. A long time ago, a member GeneH, I think, made a sweet custom 8-gauge mount that went across the entire drivers side dash! I'll try to remember tonight to look and see when and where I got mine. One other option that you haven't mentioned is the steering-column-single-gauge mount for the '94 and up trucks I believe. Fits like O. J. 's glove:-laf
