Steering Stabilizer Question

New Tires

I have run the frantz on my truck since new. The filter elements have been provided to me by "we filter it". Nice thing about using thier replacements was the elements fit perfect and they were not expensive. Now, along with my standard order of replacement elements, they have sent me an adapter tube that fits over the vertical tube on the filter housing and the filter elements appear to be the same as in the grocery store. Now when I change the element, I waste about 25% of the roll and am guessing that the total filter area is reduced approx. 15%. Does anybody know if there is another supplier of the "prefit" toilet paper elements for the Frantz filter? The "we filter it" people don't seem to respond to my inquiries.:confused:

HMMmmmm - that's interesting - wonder if they lost their former supplier?

If the Frantz cartridges are no longer available, the Scott brand is quite close in quality - or at least WAS, last time I bought some...

Fortunately, I have a large supply on hand of both the Frantz cartridges, as well as the Scott TP pictured above. With 2 Frantz systems installed, I need a good supply! :-laf

IF you can find the single roll scotts the tube is about the same size as the wefilterit roll. about 1 1/2" or so. I found some a while back at a K-mart store here.

The 4 packs have the larger tubes and need the "O" ring treatment. Your also looking for the regular HARD roll not the new and IMPROVED roll.

Gary;

have you had any problem with your oil cap swivel fitting blowing oil at the top "O" ring? I have.

I have too, its easy enough to replace the o-ring... pair of snap-ring pliers is all that's needed.

Make sure about your o-ring material... I used one from a "bulk kit" from Harbor Freight and it leaked within a week, replaced with an o-ring from the local hardware store and been fine for 100k.

I contacted Wayne Owens about this and he had not heard of anyone having an issue like this. I used the same bulk "O" rings so to the parts store I go. I also have lengthened the tube, maybe not nessessary?

Its a mechanical swivel, with a rubber o-ring, subjected to heat and petroleum... and that's not going to eventually leak why?? I find it hard to believe nobody else has had this problem... the short answer is that 99% of the people who install this fitting are doing the same as we did (fixing it ourselves) and its not getting reported as an issue because they simply accept it as a replacement wear item (like tires or brakes). ;)

I'm not even sure what the material was that either o-ring was made of... I almost want to say the last one I used was viton??

Somewhere, in all my stuff, I have an entire case of the original Frantz filter elements... ... ... ... . I also have, somewhere, some of the BIG Frantz multi stacker units... ... ... ... ... ... . somewhere.

Sometime back, I bought a half a pickup truck load of Frantz stuff from the relatives of an elderly gentleman that had passed away.

RC,

I might, may, perhaps have a double stacker here in Florida. I remember seeing one around here somewhere.

If I have a triple, and I think I do, it will be in storage in Texas. When I closed my dealership there, I bought a 45' freight trailer to store the left over stuff in... ... ... ... ... let me see what I can find here and I will let you know.

Thanx for reminding me... ... ... .....

Send me a PM with your email and phone number so we can take this conversation out of the forum.

Whoooooo Hooooooooooooooooooo, I found it! A BIG 3 Stacker... ... ... ... ... ... . I will take some pix and post. Maybe the only one left in existence?

This is what the big commercial Frantz multi stacker filters looked like. The largest one pictured is a 3 stacker and the other is a 2 stacker. These were made from heavy steel wall tubing and then chromed. They are heavy.
