Not having alot of luck searching on yahoo, so I figured I'd ask here. I'm looking for some info on the Oliver 1800 diesel tractor. Main question is whether they use the Waukasha engine or the GM. Would like other tech specs if possible. Thanks

My Nebraska Test book ( Nebraska Nebraska Tractor Tests since 1920 [up to 1984] by C. H. Wendel) says the 1800 diesel engine was built by Oliver. The 1900 had a 2 cycle GM.

1800 engine specs are-

70 pto hp, 62. 5 drawbar. 283 CID, 3 7/8" x 4" b&s.

Thanks BMoeller. I think the motor was a joint Oliver/Waukasha deal. I always thought on of those 2 strokes would be fun to make for an antique puller. I tried to find it on the NTT, but they wanted $15 for the info.
Bigpapa, I'll keep YT in mind. Thanks

Your welcome. IIRC, the book was ~$3-40. Tests from the begining to '84.

Only have the new stuff online for free. :(

Very well could be, but that is what they called it anyhow. The GM in one of those sounds mean straight piped. :D
