F.a.s.s.

Came across some fliers from Scheid Extravagaza this year about the Haisley-McLeod clutches. Decided to look up the website.

I was very impressed with what I read about the HMR Street Puller. It seems like exactly what I need in a clutch. I plan on pulling occasionally next year and need something that will hold around 450HP 1000TQ (once I get my HX40 on and a plate I can grind on;) ) I know my truck will make 404HP with a #10 plate full forward and my M300's on a stock HX35/12. I figure I will be right at or a lil' over 450 with a HX40 and plate I can grind on.

The Haisley-McLeod clutch is tested at a minimum of 850ft/lbs of Torque:eek: :D Use's a billet flywheel. Its also rated up to 4,000RPM's which is good, and it says on Haisley-McLeods site in BIG RED LETTERS "RECOMMENDED FOR SLED PULLING"Oo.

I really think that this clutch would be ideal for my truck considering that I'm going to be running a considerable amount of power, and would like to sled pull oocasionally and still be able to drive home.

i would like to hear some input on this also as i have been debating between this clutch and the southbend dd. we have a few guys running the street puller down here and love it. one guy has over 60 hooks on his but i haven't had a chance to talk to him personally.

Their clutches can't be beat. Go to their website and look at the results from Scheids. Toughest trucks in the country. Look how many haisley clutches were in the top 5 of each class. Smith Diesel is in KY and run the street puller in their trucks and they are TOUGH !

Maybe no one wants to get Flamed by the Clutch Cult :D

Craig

P. S. I don't think you can go wrong with the Haisley Pulling clutch much like the Mitchell one.

Craig, with all due respect I would like to keep the EEP clutch out of this. I know the EEP clutch is a great clutch and it VERY stout... . its just not for me and I'd like to leave it at that. ;)

You wouldn't be the Joe Dailey listed on their site as running the Comp. puller would you? ;)

I thought that clutch was not for street use "PERIOD" do you have a puller only truck?

Yea. That truck doesn't belong to me. It has some of my parts and I help Carey work on it. Yes it has a comp puller in it. It came out of my puller last year. It had 60+ hooks on it last year. We put about 25 on it this year since the first of Aug. 4000-5000 rpm oughta the hole, slipping it out 50-60' sometimes... . they are badazz! Best bolt in clutch out there. And the discs still aren't worn out. It's not really a bad clutch to drive on the street. It's just a little slow shifting. But I don't have very high standards about things like that. BTW-Carey drives it 50-60 miles to work everyday. So yea... I'd say it's a street truck.
