I have a 99 dodge dually with auto trans and 4. 10 gears. I pull a patio hauler that weighs about 11,500lbs to 14,500lbs depending on load. I currently have these mods AFE air filter system, 4in Magnaflow exhaust system, large capacity trans pan. I also have a gauge pod with trans, exhaust and boost but the best mod of all its paid for. I was think of adding these mods wanted to see what you thought of the order and products.

1st ATS transmission and torque converter.

2nd edge comp chip.

3rd us gear exhaust brake also would add the trans lock.

I have no trans problems at this time so i have considered doing the trans last

If you have a good transmission now, keep it good and do the converter now, before it ruins the rest. A comp would be awfully fun for the money but you dont have a fuel pressure guage. That would be the absolute next mod no matter what, if it were me. I bought my mint condition, low mileage 01 with, guess what, a dead lift pump, little did i know at the time, but it ran like a champ. Guess what my first mods were. Guages, fuel pressure, pyro, and least important(on 24v sticks) boost. So thats my input on mods.

DO NOT add an exhaust brake or a wired tap comp box to a stock transmission :eek:

You will fry it in short order, especially towing :{

comp in ez mode should be fine

I can say from experience with my truck when I got it,it had a pacbrake,automatic and a bare wire where a Comp had been tapped before. I liked the truck and bought it anyway knowing full well about the pacbrake,automatic and no lock-up controller so I got a 2 year bumper to bumper extended warranty with the truck. 32 days later I lost second gear and made an appointment with ATS. Luckily I made the trip to Denver when I did because the truck barely made the hill off I-76 to get to the shop!It was toast with 42,000 miles on the clock!Moral of the story,if you have an auto it should be the first thing to get attention or you'll be calling for a hook..... so I would agree with BW all the way!If you do everything in the order you listed them you'll be fine. The Comp is a bad*** box but things will get hot. I like injectors personally because IMO they seem to give the VP-44 a break like let it run cooler because its not dead heading all thet pressure within itself.

I just put in my ATS TC. and would say get the locComander asap. I had to order it after instaling the TC. Love the ATS TC but it needs the lock up controler befor the pacbrake.

I noticed that when my truck shifts in to 4U their is a shutter from the TC slipping and grabing. Probly because I have not added my fule plate as of yeat. going to put on my 4" exhaust sunday. Thin hopfuly the fule plate next weakend. (it is a #6 :-laf ). Wating on LocComander to show up. :{

I got my truck bombed with an exhaust brake, so that was done before I got my trans ATS'd. But the exhaust brake can hurt the stock trans if used without a "mystery switch" to keep the TC locked.

Anyway, if I were going to do it again, I'd get the ATS first.

Also, it depends on how many miles are on your present trans. I had 107,000 on mine when I got my ATS Stage IV. Later I got the controller, and I'm really glad I did.

But if your trans is already over 100,000 miles, you might as well bite the bullet and do the whole trans. ATS is definitely the way to go. Lockup is

stong! And shifting locked is good to have sometimes. It has been the best thing I ever did to my truck--I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I'd call them and ask questions, and ask if they have any affiliated shops

near where you live.

Here is a thread I posted after I got my Stage IV in 2002.
