I Have Had My Egt Probe In For About 6 Months And Had To Take It Out To Take My Truck In To Have An Injector Replaced. I Know Before Some Of You Start In About Being My Own Warranty Station That I Agree But My Dealer Told Me That He Had No Problems With The J/a But He Would Prefer I Take It Off Before Bringing It In To Be Replaced. I Was Prepared To Pay For The Injector But Who Am I To Look A Gift Horse In The Mouth.

On To The Real Problem While Putting The Probe Back I Noticed That It Wouldn't Get Tight Pulled It Back Out And Looked At The Probe's Threads They Are Good So Then Looked At The Manifold And Couldn't Really See Any Threads. Then I Looked At The Plugs Threads That I Had Used While It Was In The Shop And They Looked Awful. Needless To Say The Manifolds Threads Are Gone Tried To Retap But The Hole Had Gotten To Big.

What To I Need To Do. I Have Some 1/8 To 1/4 Bushings But I Question If The 1/4 Threads Allow For Enough Threads To Come In Contact With The Manifold.

I Know I Can't Be The Only One To Screw Up Like This Looking For What Others Have Had To Do.

Please Tell Me I Don't Have To Buy A New Manifold.

I would go with the bushing, Use some never sieze on the 1/8 probe when you install to preserve the threads. A Helicoil might be another option but if you are pre turbo, that might introduce added possibility of trash intrusion into the turbo. bg

You can use a 1/4" line x 1/4" pipe fitting. You won't need the bushing then.

I AM NOT QUIET SURE I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO TELL ME HERE, IS A 1/4 LINE NOT THE SAME THEAD SIZE AS THE BUSHING. IS THERE ENOUGH METAL DEPTH IN THE MANIFOLD FOR THE 1/4" THREADS TO BITE.
