Hope that I am in the right place. I'm sure that if not, someone will tell me. I'm wanting to replace the 40/60 split bench in my 92 D250 with a 92/93 bucket seat setup.

mcwillib,

You are in the right place... almost. :) The forum nazi's like to see these things in the classifieds. If you look under the website features tab above (I think, the forum has recently been "upgraded"), I believe you'll find the classified listings. You can look for the seats you are seaking, as well as run a "wanted" ad to help locate them.

Welcome to the forum, good luck.

Hi, and welcome to the TDR!

Another option to consider would be to install the 40/20/40 bucket seats from a 2nd Gen truck. Therywill be easier to find as Dodge produced many more 2nd Gen trucks than 1st Gen. I found mine on ebay from a '96 Ram with leather and a power driver's seat. I believe starting in 1998 Dodge used a different seat design with the shoulder restraints built into the seatbacks, meaning you probably couldn't retain your stock '92 belts for the outer seats like I did. See my Reader's Rig gallery for some pictures.

Best of luck!!

40/20/40 seats

Thanks Mike. I tried a 3d gen seat and it was to wide at the door post. I will take a look at the 94 - 96 area and see what I can find

Your bench is more comfortable on a long trip than the buckets from the 92-93 trucks. I have both and can attest to this. Unless you are going for looks only, go for the 2nd gen or something better than the buckets if you are going to the trouble anyway. Tugboat did the second gen seats on his. You might get some tips from him.

I just recently installed a set of power seats from a 94 in my rig. It is way mroe comfortable!!! The power part is nice. It allows you to really adjust the seat to you. The lumbar support hleps on long road trips too. Installation was not too bad. Just sit down and plan it out to suit your taste then do it. I installed 1/2" installation under the carpet, new carpet and the new seats in a weekend. Probably could have had it done quicker if I hadn't had help that was a little to zealous.

I saw Carls truck at Piers a couple of weeks ago. The seat looks really good and he did a top job installing it. Looks like it was made for the truck. Wish I would have gone that way rather than with aftermarket seats.
