Hey folks! I'm looking to put the BFG 315/70R17's on my 2500. I know you need a leveling kit but what I'm curious about is what wheels most of you are using. I bought some Boyds but it turns out these stick out another 2. 25" over stock. Seems a bit excessive to me but Boyd says it's not. Before I go mounting tires on them (and can't return them), I wanted to see some pics of what you folks are running and how far they stick out. Also, has anyone put this size of tire on the stock rim? Thanks for the help!

Look at my signature. I was running 315/70/17's on my stock rims for a couple thousand miles. No problems with clearance except a sharp turn with the suspension compressed it rubbed just a little bit, nothing to worry about. I did put a daystar leveling kit on the truck for the sole reason that I installed rocker flares on the truck and didn't want to knock them off. Go ahead and mount the 315's on your stock rims before you mount them on your boyds.

I saw this thread after I started this one. Thanks lawdog. Anyone else have pics?

Hey Brad,

This is Kory, I've got the same truck as you. Mine Came with the bfg 315's when I bought it. They work fine with no leveling kit. They only rub the lower control arms a little at full lock. I will send you some pics monday. Home depot crushed the top of steve's tail gate. $1400 worth.

Kory

Kory as in All-J Kory? What's shakin man! I heard you got a new truck but didn't think to ask if you had larger tires on or not. Are you on the stock rims?

Tell Steve I have two tailgates to choose from! One white and one gray. Too bad about his truck though.

Kilby, I have a pic of my truck with black steel wheels and the 315's on it. It's in the reader's rigs section. I have since put new aluminum wheels with the simulated beadlocks on but haven't posted a pic yet.

Good luck in your search.

Found the pics Hammerhead. They look nice! Which simulated beadlocks did you go with? I'm a dealer for OMF and their beadlocks and they just came out with their simulated beadlock, which means I have to have them now. Heh heh! Maybe I'll send in the OEM rims to get the simulated locks installed, then send the rims out for pollishing. :)

Here's a picture of my truck with the 315's on stock aluminum rims. It's leveled out by the front Kelderman air-ride kit. I may be in the minority, but I really like the stock rims and plan to keep them.

That looks nice David. Exactly the type of pic I was looking for. :) I really don't mind the factory rims but I really don't like the monsterous center caps they have. They do look a lot alike the Rubicon rims though.

4xquadrod, that looks nice as well. Who's flare? Bushwacker? What did they cost if you don't mind me asking?

Very nice looking! What did you use for a 3" lift? A 3" spacer for the 94-02's?

3" Spacer

Yes and thanks, Mr Simms,

Same for the 02's etc.

BTW I just edited my sig to be more specific so your were not blind I just changed it. :D

Hey Steve,

As you didn't make the last meeting, how about a report on the recent upgrades. Are you happy with the new DTT trany? how about the II's with the ez? or is there a BullyDog box in your future? are you still married? Nice black mark in your recent picture. Recent testing i presume

All in al does it feel as strong as Gregs old 01 (remember that E-ticket ride:D that was a lot of fun. )

Time to take it out to Oldsmobile

Take care and best regards

Cool, did you add an add-a-leaf or small block in the rear, or leave it alone?
