I was planning on going with a Skyjacker lift for the truck, but after conversations with Skyjacker, I realized that this kind of lift may be more problem than it is worth. I was told that the angle that will result on the front driveshaft should be corrected with a transfer case indexing ring. I'd rather not get into that kind of modification. I searched the forums and started looking at the Kore stuff and watched Extreme 4x4's install of the Kore system. I was really impressed and I liked the looks of the truck. My main goal is to be able to run 35's to change my effective gearing to something more like 3:73's. I have the 4:10's now, and wish I had a higher gear. Can someone help me out with some pics of their trucks from a side view? I've seen the pics on the Kore site and they don't give me a good idea of how the truck will sit because of the blacked out background. Kent returned my e-mail within hours and said that the front will go up 2. 25" and the rear will be lifted 1" for my year (2003). Thanks.

I too would like see some pics, especially from the front or back. I don't know why Kent doesn't have any quality photos of this setup on his website?

I've been bugging people for 2 weeks about this setup, and so far no one has had ANYTHING negative to say about it. It seems like an enormous amount of money to spend on wheels, tires, and a susp. upgrade. And it is.

However, it if weren't worth every penny, we would have unhappy people on here saying so. I don't see that. If all goes well, KORE's inventory will be a little smaller this afternoon! Oo. :D

I can't do the Kore/Weld wheels, but I'm in the process of finding out if the Eagle 114's will fit. They have 6" backspacing, +20mm offset, but are 9. 5" wide. If you caught the Extreme 4x4 show on the Banks/Kore setup, Banks uses a fender with a larger fender opening and special flares. He used 20x10 Weld wheels with standard backspacing/offset and 35" tires. It looked really good and there were no fender clearance issues. I've got e-mails in with Banks and Kore about these fenders and flares. It would be ideal to get a template and the flares and be able to trim the fenders and install the flares and not have to worry about the critical backspacing issue.

Kent also said that a track bar would be out this summer that will correct the front axle offset. I see that Darin at Solidsteel has an adjustable '03 and up track bar now too.

I hear that. I know I'm going with the Kore lift and the 35's, but I just can't decide if I really need the wheels. I have the large Bushwacker pocket style fender flares so my current wheels sticking out a bit looks really good on my truck IMO. The only reason I am thinking of getting the Welds are to correct the problem I have of my truck wondering across the lane on the hwy. That may have nothing to do with the wheels at all, but some have told me that the Kore/ Welds should eliminate that. Plus, I have a guy that wants to buy my current wheels and tires, so the cost of the Welds would be really cut down- in my twisted mind anyway. :D

With KORE's 18" Weld wheels fender flares are not necessary because of proper offset & backspace, and there are no interference issues.

$500 per wheel though? Wheels and tires alone are going to cost about $3200 :--)

The wife isn't going to bite off on that one. I think I can convince her about the Chase system, but dropping over three grand on wheels and tires will surely get me the "Why are you doing this to a perfectly good truck?!" speech.

Kent just e-mailed me back about the Eagle 114's rubbing the fenders. He says they will not work as he has tried them.

So basically, there's only one wheel and tire option for use with this suspension if you want to run 35" tires. Banks trims the fenders to make conventional wheels fit, but that's not an easy solution for someone without Banks' resources.

I may have to go with 33's.

I just put in pace lift. looking at rims nowI think I will go with alcoa classics or welds super single IIs with 315 70 17. The kore wheels are 550. 00 each,a little more than I wanted to spend.

Task125,

Kent says that 35's won't work on a standard or "incorrect wheel" as he puts it. I think this may be because the Kore suspension allows more wheel travel and would allow the tire to hit the fender. Without lengthened control arms, you have moved your wheel a little closer to the rear of the fender also. In a turn, you may have rubbing issues with a wheel that sticks out of the fender unless you trim.

33" tires

I may have to go with the 33x13. 5R18's that Mickey Thompson just came out with.

Click on Baja Radial ATZ on the left menu bar

They're load range E, and there's a 13. 5 and a 15. 5" width.

The 13. 5" wide tires have a sidewall width of 13. 3".

The 35x12. 5R18 Toyo M/T tires have an overall width of 13. 2".

This seems like a good alternative to the 35" tires. Even though I want to get my gear ratio up, I may have to make this compromise in order to save a couple thousand on tires and wheels.

I think I could clear 35's with my non-Kore wheels just as long as I have a 2" leveling kit. I have certainly seen other trucks that are doing just that without any problems. I'm no expert though so don't hold me to it.

just got e mail from Kent,

No, that's not true - I hope nobody here said that. 315's (or 35's) should work fine as long as they're on the OE wheel or a wheel similar in dimension to the OE wheel.

I have installed 2 CHASE systems(one an 04 QC SB, one an 05 QC SB), and both were running factory wheels with BFG 315's. The only rub was on the passenger side lower control arm when turning right to the limit.

I get the same on mine with the 37's, but do not encounter it unless I'm doing parking manuevers.

Blake U, can you post a pic of yours?

Diesel Dan,

Thanks for the pics.

Do you think if your tires were mounted on wheel that was 1. 5" wider toward the outside of the truck that the tires would rub? Kent says they will, but It doesn't look like it. Hard to tell, but I guess Kent would know better than my eyeball estimate. I really want to run 35's on aftermarket wheels, but I'm getting a headache trying to figure out how to do it without spending 3200 beans.
