Hey guys,

My radio went out in my 02 and I've got 200 miles left on the factory warr. They replaced the radio and it worked for about 6 hours and COMPLETELY failed. Previously the cd would skip, and now the thing has garbled numbers and won't do anything.

I'm looking for options to get a brand-new OEM one. The dealer will only put in referb's (which the one they put in was). I'm just thinking I may as well go all out and get a new one. I want to stay factory because of the steering wheel control options currenty on my truck...

THanks,,

Corey

dont know about factory units but most of the higher end aftermarket headunits can work with interfaces so that you can still use your steering controls but usally you lose the ablity to use the remote control when you hook up the steering wheel controls

Corey, you say your dealer is only installing refurbs? Something must have changed with Chrysler. The four years I spent working for a local dealer here, we never used refurbs for warranty work. Are you talking about factory warranty, or an aftermarket service contract? As far as an outlet for OEM radios, a friend told be about this place. http://www.westcoastradios.com/page/page/612616.htm He said they carry both new, and rebuilt. You may have to call them for pricing.

do you have more info on this?

if you already have the OEM steering wheel controls on your truck, you can replace the OEM radio if you have a problem. Mine has gone out twice now, and I thought purchasing one from dodge would be around 800.
