Travelling east from Portland, OR, area, my stock in-dash engine temperature gauge went out. I can't find anybody listed in the Travel Companion for Baker City, OR. Looking to get a recommendation on a qualified reputable repair facility in this area before resuming my trip. I would rather not go to the Dodge dealer for obvious cost reasons. I will only be here a couple of days, so please answer quickly if you have any useful information. Thanks.

Like it or not, you're about as close as you're likely to get to any decent Dodge truck assistance - I live in the John Day area, about 70 miles SW of Baker - and Baker or Burns, 70 miles to the South on 395, are the closest to where I live - and any decent independent shop further away from the dealership will just have to go TO the dealership for parts - IF the dealership even has them in stock!

Otherwise, about the best alternative is a Kragen-type universal temp gauge installed temporarily to get you back home and to service alternatives you are more familiar with...

Didn't see this sooner. Power Wagon's up in Weston, OR (about 110 miles north-ish). Dunno if he's still doing anything in the diesel world, though.

Thanks, guys. My camp host recommended somebody, who was busy, but who could pass me on to someone who can do the work and at a decent price. Thanks for your help. I will be on my way tomorrow. Your help is appreciated.
