How about some advice from all you bombers out there on adding twins to my truck. Right now I have only a TST, Con FE and MBRP 4" exhaust for drivetrain mods. Are twins the way to go or is there a good single turbo upgrade that will help control EGTs when running the TST at 6 or higher?

Thanks for the help!!

Twins are always the way to go! But I believe it is a matter of "WANTS -vs- NEEDS" and I want it all but do I need it? Well sometimes :D

the above statements are true, i would save money and put on a SPS 66 it has plenty of air flow, twins can be pretty expensive and sometimes hard to install. good luck :-laf

, i can tow at 500 plus h. p, but the water temp starts to climb, ex will only hit 1200 -1275 max, any higher and it is hard to control boost pressure, it is either 15 psi or 60 psi, so i turn the tst down to 2x2 and can tow safely, i havent seen a single that can keep cool and have drivability at the same time when towing a heavy load, but at the same time its probably not a good idea to tow with higher h. p. than stock, i eat a lot of u-joints and change my diff oils about 4 times a year, it all depends what u want from your truck, they are making some bad a?? singles but i am really liking the drivability of twins, empty or loaded

Unless you have found a reliable VGT or VVT (varable geometry or variable vane), twins are unbeatable for driveablilty and 100% duty cycle power.

I personally want twins with a VVT, but I haven't found an affordable vvt yet.

If you have the money the twins are the only way to go. As far as how high you can turn the tst up you will be limited by the cp3. That is when you have twins you can get lots of air. And the cp3 has a hard time maintaining rail pressure. Lift pump up grade will help some. You do not need big twins to make good power and they will drive almost like stock. I would sagest studs in the head if your going to run hard most of the time or anything over 60 psi to be safe. Just my two cents.

i think under 650hp artic air twins. but you only have an fe so you are limited to 550hp or less so for 2800 bucks i say AA twins. i dont think you can beat them! but you can also go the single route you can get a really good single for 1100-1500 i would probably go with a 64 or 62 for a single and lots of towing. I was running a BD super B single in my 03 with a TST/Ramifier stack and I had no problems getting my FE to slip. You WILL need a dual disk. As far as twins vs. singles, I have very good luck with my Super B. Temps were always great, spool up was great, and I don't have the twins program yet. Also, My truck weighed about 9600 lbs and Had big (35") duals. I also pull a 13k lb 5th wheel. Mileage and temps and power were great. I think a good quality single will do what you need if you use common sense when towing. Will twins do better, oh, yeah, but they are spendy. Plus you are still going to have upgrade your clutch again. Hope this helps a bit.

Having owned a few aftermarket singles(jammer,B1). I would say say the twins are the best hands down. The spool up is better and the the egt's are where quite a bit lower when i went to twins. The twin kits are more expensive. In the long run they are worth it.
