Check out Rims N Tires and Rimz One, Rims N Tires has a very cool rim and tire size calculator. I suggest you shop the price after you have made you selection. I'm in the process of new wheels and tires and have found as much as 25% difference in cost. Beautiful rig! What is the bumper?

Before buying any tire and wheel combination insure that these will support the load that will be placed on the truck. Some of the aftermarket wheels will hardly support the truck and it's occupants when installed on your truck.

I purchased after market tires and wheels but the weakest link are the Mickey Thompson Sidebiter II rims. They will only support a load of 3640 LBS each. Which in my case is more than adequately for supporting the load on the rear axle when towing my trailer. My tires are Nitto Dura grappler 285/70R/17 126R; a 10 ply tire that is rated for 3750 at 80 psi. I air them to 50 psi front and 70 psi rear which will support the load adequately.

Another thing to consider with aftermarket rims on a dually is that in order to rotate them the tires have to be dismounted. I have alcoas which were on the truck when I bought it and they are nice, but you can't rotate them like steels. I almost got a set of 3rd gen steel wheels w caps from a TDR member but had a blowout on the rear tire and tire company made me a deal on six general grabbers ATs so went that route.

I am in the same boat got raised white letter and I have 8 tires (2 spares) so I do an 8 tire rotation now and have to break down four tires/rims. I had Alcoa rims on my 2001 and noticed a better braking, I thinking less wheel mass equals faster stopping.

As far as braking I have been content with this truck especially compared to the single piston/ drum rear of my 99. I use the exhaust brake a lot which isn't the best out there but was on when I got the truck. I always thought powdercoating some steels would look kinda cool. I personally wouldn't spend the dough on aftermarket rims on a dually especially if only for better braking. I think the brakes on the 3rd gens are adequate, unlike the pads on the 99 that were about the size of my 90 jeep Cherokee. Considered an exhaust brake?
