Went back to Dodge!

Well, I've had about enough of my POS Ford, and since I had so much good luck with my V10 Ram, I'm thinking about trading for a new Cummins 600.

How do I go about getting agood deal on one of these? I want the usual, 3500, SRW, 4x4 SLT, etc.

Dealer prices are MSRPing in the $40-43,000 rance here (for the 04s) no 04. 5s around yet of course.

Any tips from you guys for bidding at invoice, etc? Thanks in advance.

Might check with TDR member (tomeygun) I believe some of the other members are getting pretty good deals through him, from what I've read. Good luck with your choice. :D

Spin up the configuration you want on Edmunds.com and use that as a guide. Their prices are reasonably accurate if you input your zip code. I took a printout of what I wanted to various dealers and asked them if they could match the Edmunds price. The ones that said they couldn't saw me walking out the door. Also remember that the rebates are deducted from the Edmunds price, not dealer invoice or MSRP.

Don't trade in your old vehicle; you'll get ripped on the value. If you want to trade it in, get your best deal first based on no trade in, then negotiate trade in value afterwards.

Another option, if you are willing to fly one-way around the country and drive the truck back is to look as some of the dealers recommended here.

Good luck

Thanks for the insight guys. I have 2 very high volume Dodge truck dealers within 10 miles of me. I'm going to do a little research (thanks for the Edmunds link), and see what kind of pricing I can get.

I may also contact Tommeygun. Does he drop-ship?

Give Tomeygun a call. He won't BS ya and I think he just started drop shipping. Just another satisfied customer. I had a blast getting to know my new truck on the drive home. You are missing out with a drop ship.

My favorite place to price-out a vehicle has been KBB.com. You can do a "view all options" list, that will show you the invoice and retail price of every option (or you can build a truck with the options you want & it will spit out the costs). You should be able to get a truck below invoice price, before you start figuring incentives, rebates, etc.

I bought mine right at dealer invoice less incentives

What I JUST did!!Oo.

Dodge (in the Mid-Atlantic Region) is currently offering $2000 rebate + 0. 00% for 48 months. Usually it's one or the other - deal was too good to pass up.

Ordered 3500 SRW 4x4 48RE Cummins 600 SLT in Silver Metallic with Taupe Cloth interior.

My dealer will put the order in on Monday, he is a high volume dealer here in SE PA, and says he has plenty of allocation. Hopefully, he said he'd also have a VON for me. About 8 weeks he said, but hopefully sooner. I can't wait.

long story - short

3% under invoice minus rebates...

15 on order at this time, and counting...

heck, call me and at minimum get ammo to crush your local dealer:mad: , hahahaha!

OR - just order and i will drop it to you, if your dealer is cool about it...

Tomeygun,

These dealers out there that don't want to deal, just might put a "contract" out on you. LOL I would bet they are writing letters to DC about you selling them so cheap, making them look bad.

swexlin- well, that didn't take long. You were still getting hits on the thread, and now you've got a new truck!!! Congrats, and welcome to the fold.

Tomeygun- hope you're working tomorrow.

I got a VERY good deal. I don't have a new truck yet - order being entered Mon morning - 8 weeks. :(

Actually, welcome BACK. I had a 97 2500 V10 - great truck. Still miss it. :D My 3 year "affair" with Ford is almost over.
