camper tie downs?

Just thought I would post a pic of my Dad's Rig :--)

They went on vacation left Texas and trucked all the way to California. He said it pulled real good. Truckin' 72mph down the road. Looks like a train to me! ;)

I was wondering about that, because it was in your readers rigs and all, well that sucks that you are now cumminsless poor you, i dont know what i would do!

well I did have a cummins 92 4x4 Which I posted in the other forum. Which Someone Slammed into me last month and totalled out the truck. :{ But yes, I'm cumminless now. But I'm getting another here pretty quick...

well that sucks i have been thinking about the possibility of someone crashing into me, it just happened to my cousin. with every bomb i am dreading the thought of someone hitting me because the insurance company doesnt pay too much about dtt trannys and injectors and such. so what do you plan on getting?

was it the red reg cab if so that is sad :{

It is one thing to see a small boat being pulled behind a fiver (concern being length rather than weight), but I think a 5000 pound minivan is probably pushing the extreme side of the fifth wheel's frame for safety sake.

To each his own. Best of luck to them and I really truly hope they are not in an accident. Lawyers will be lined up for miles... .....

dang! looks good. seeing a phillips 66 makes me miss home that much more. hophially in the next 2. 5 weeks i'll be back in san marcos for a visit.

what's to worry about? the insurance will let you buy the truck back and will wrap it up into your settlement, so you get a good parts truck and cash in your pocket and you can build a crew cab or something with it...

and because I have this outlook on totaled vehicles? it'll NEVER happen to me! :(

I hope you checked out your total length in regard to the towing triple laws. In the state of MI you can't be longer than 65' and must have a recreational triple endorsement, or have the commercial equivalent. It could be different down there though...

Yes,My totaled truck was the maroon Reg. cab :{

I prolly plan on getting another 1st gen. or maybe a second gen.

I think my Dad measured from bumper to bumper and was 651/2 if I'm right. sure looks cool though Oo. Oo.

Hey Barry you found me a truck yet? :-laf

i was just looking on ebay, there were some real nice second gens, what are you looking for i will keep an eye open :eek:

My truck is pretty long when coupled to my TT, but I dont think it's that long.

There should be a picture of it in my gallery.

Technicaly , in California triples are only allowed if the the second towed vehicle is a boat. Also, for residents they want you to have a non-commercial CDL (yeah, that's an oxymoron) with doubles endorsement.

However, judging by the number of dunners pulling triples down to Glamis the enforcement is pretty lax. However, I doubt that mini-van has a separate braking system. I'd be concerned about getting the rig stopped. To each his own.

Some would say my Dodge 3500 SRW pulling a 37' Toybox at 22,000 LBS GCVW is nuts too. However, I've got five axles of brakes and an exhaust brake to help me come to a stop. I'm only 52' long overall.
