loose steering problem

How "loose" is it? There might be a gear box problem. The steering shock mostly buffer raod vibes, i think.

Hopefully its nothing major.

I picked up my used Dodge Cummins about a month ago. I noticed that the input to the steering wheel did not coincide with what the front end did. It felt loose, especially on a rough, crowned road( the only kind we have in Maine). I took it in to the dealer service department and they diagnosed it as a bad steering box. Its in the shop as of today for a new one under my 30 day 1000 mile warranty. Truck has 38. 5k on it. I thought it was somthing simple like a ball joint etc. Hope it works
