That's a whole lot of missing oil, and no visible leaks... Pull the air filter intake tube off the turbo and inspect, hope you do not find any oil.

Check for excess blow by in the crank case. Check turbo for oil on either side.

One quart in a 1000 miles sounds like a lot but it could burn that much and not show at the tail pipe.

Turbo seal? Pull the line/tube off the turbo outlet to the intercooler and look for oil inside the tube. If that is where it is going you have a big clean up job including the intercooler. Chris

set oil fill cap on top with engine running just vibrates off, not a lot of pressure there.

took input and output off turbo no oil, dryer than a popcorn fart. Any more suggestions?

checked dip stick no o ring but has two built in o rings, one on housing one on dip stick

The turbo could be leaking through the turbine seals/bearings, into the exhaust and burning it off (as Nick stated above). That's a bit more involved to check as you have to get the downpipe off...if the compressor side was a dry as you stated, then the turbine side is probably ok, maybe. What was shaft play like on the turbo? Side to side (radial) is acceptable as long as there is no contact with the housing, end to end (axial) is where you can have problems, usually none, is what is desirable.

If you can't find anything obvious with the turbo probably time for a compression and leak down test to see if it just going past the rings.
