Loping bad cold starts

Well the high idle kicked in the first time on my 03 and it was loping like a camed up 12v but the tack stayed steady at 1000 rpms, it always has a slight lope when cold but was really noticeable when it idles high. Ive only owned the truck since june it has 47000 mi it runs smooth when warm. Any suggestions, thoughts

Sledpull it Jesse. It will clean the carbon off of the tips! :-laf

Seriously, I dont know. Might try some Diesel Power additive.

Actually I have ran some diesel power additives through it maybe I need some more. If I can sell my 98 there are some plans for the 03.

My 03 does that too when its cold out. I just leave it thinkin its normal. It starts to level out as it gets warmer. I think it has something to do with the grid heater kicking on and off while in high idle.

Mine soes that as well, Should have heard it this morning, -10 deg celcius, straight piped sounded like a cammed v8 loping. High idle kicks in immediately. I think its normal
