I purchased my truck (see sig) about 6 months ago. I have the 730N (RER) Media Center. I paired the uConnect to my Samsung Galaxy S phone and all worked great, until just a few days ago. All of a sudden, the Bluetooth connects when I start the engine, but sometimes disconnects a few minutes later. Other times, it stays connected. BTW, the Galaxy S is one of the phones tested with the 730N and was found to be highly compatable.

I noticed in TRD Issue 72, page 65, that there's a TSB 08-001-11, Rev. A, 2/16/11 to address this issue. My dealer ran my VIN and confirmed that my truck qualifies for this TSB. I plan to have them do the S/W upgrade to the Media Center next week (he said if I got there as soon as they open, they should be able to do it right away and I can just wait for it).

Has anyone else experienced this condition with their Media Center? Did you get the TSB performed? Did it fix the problem? Thanks.

try plugging your phone into the cigarette lighter or a 12v service then use it. i had the same problem and found that to use the bluetooth the phone had to be plugged into power. i think it's because of the drain on the bluetooth and phone connection. It may be all together different but it fixed my problem.

That's WAY too much trouble, and shouldn't be required for the price I paid for this truck. I'm having the dealer update the s/w this Wed morning (7/27) per the TSB. I'll post the results of that later this week.

Well, the s/w update was uneventful. The dealer was impressed that I had the TSB number (thanks to the TDR). It only took them about 15 minutes; didn't even give me enough time to finish my free coffee in their waiting area. No reprogramming of anything in the Media Center was required afterwards. I did, however, delete the "phone" in the UConnect and "reinstall" it. So far, so good. It's only been one day, but the connection has not dropped since the s/w update. Fingers crossed.

Had the same thing happen with a Droid and ended up replaceing the Phone at there cost not mine but no problem's sense .

This may be related, maybe not.

Got a new phone for the wife in May, talked her into a Bluetooth earpiece to use with it which she loves.

Worked good for about two weeks, and then would lose the bluetooth connection.

Fool with it, restart everything and would be good for a couple of days, then would start disconnecting again.

Took it back, lucked out and got a good tech.

Problem was she had too many photos in it (Grandkids, Completed Jobs, etc. ) and the poor little thing was running short on drive space and processer power.

Added a memory card, stuck all photos onto that and two months later it still has not given an ounce of trouble.

Apparently the Bluetooth takes some grunt to run.

Thought it was worth a mention.

Mike. :)

My wife's Murano did the same thing after a S/W upgrade on her Blackberry. I deleted and reinstalled the Bluetooth connection for her phone and that straitened it out.
