Archived Losing boost, wastegate actuator loose.

I think I may have figured out why I am losing boost now, my actuarot rod is really loose... . you can move it back and forth about a 1/4 inch or more... Im thinking this isn't normal... what should I do ? Adjust it which way lengthen or shorten the rod ?

Don't know what year model you have but I don't think it is supposed to be loose. Mine (99) is not. Sounds like the actuator is bad or loose on it's mount. The actuator moves the rod toward the rear of truck to open wastegate so if it just needs adjusting you would shorten. bg

they generally don't lose adjustment... sounds like you might have a bad actuator.

You have a bad actuator. Try a Holset shop for the best price (HX35W) two wastegates are available (you have the lower bar/psi unit). Less than $125 is good. .
