I recently changed my lift pump, overflow valve, and eliminated my fuel heater but my truck is still difficult to start after it has sat a while. It does start better now since the new lift pump. Does anyone have the part #'s for all the sealing washers on the fuel system as I want to change them to eliminate any problems. Also talking to other '97 owners they have had the fuel lines leak on them and would like to replace the fuel lines with rubber ones from the tank to the engine. I need the Quik connect fittings for the top of the fuel tank like in the FASS set up. Does anyone know where you can get them? I don't mind tinkering but tracking down this fuel system gremlin is starting to wear on my nerves.

Look in one of galleries here. I have pictures of my old fuel lines. Nice cracks, and didn't leak fuel. I got my new line from Larry B. www.fostertruck.com It is marine grade, diesel rated hose.

Unless you are leaking fuel, I'd leave the washers alone.

I had a tiny rust hole in the tank to lift pump fuel line. Before I finally found it truck got harder and harder to start until it wouldn't start at all. Seems it was sucking air and it never did leak fuel out. Replaced line, no more starting problem. Hope this helps. :)

Fuel return lines

I was having problems with starting my trk if it sat for more than 24 hrs. I would have to crank on it for approx. 20 seconds before it would fire. I posted my problem on this site and was advised to change the fuel return lines. I did and now it fires on the first engine revolution. My old lines were the stock originals with 195,000 miles on them. You could see where they were seeping fuel and i had little drops of fuel on my garage floor. :(

Everything fine now. :)

Fuel lines

Where did you get you fuel lines from? I think they dont make stock replacements anymore. I already replaced the rubber suction line when I eliminated my fuel heater. I guess can change the rubber fuel return line but I figured I should replace it all the way back to the tank since it could be wore through from rubbing on the suction line. Even if it hasn't got holes yet it sounds like its only a matter of time.
