Well... I've been kind of holding off talkin about this since no one really knows what happened. A little background. My cousin April and I have been pretty close, being we were born only 21 days appart. A few years ago I told her she should come down and hang out with some friends of mine at a local bar. She came down and it was love at first site. She met Jason, a friend of mine who was there. If you know the song by Chirs Cagle, What a Beautiful Day, that was their life, almost to the day. Well on monday a freak accident took his life. He had been out of work for a few weeks and was trying to sell a gun. Apparently on Sunday he and another guy that was looking at buying it, went shooting. Monday when Jason went to clean the gun it went off. I don't know what kind of gun it was. When it went off it hit Jason in the face. He died instantly. The worst part, my cousin was in the other room getting ready for work and changing their 11mo Son, Hunter. She heard the crash, and came into the room where Jason was and saw everything.

Being it is saturday, almost a week later, we are all doing pretty good all things considered. Last night a group of us, most of the group that was there when April and Jason met... . went to the bar. I drank a bit, and got a ride home. As I was lying there trying to fall asleep, I thought of a poem. Kind of corny, not really my style. I'm not normally a creative person like that. But everything happens for a reason, and I know here on the TDR I can post it.

Here I lay broken hearted,

Lost a friend, Back to where I started,

Some say "everything happens for a reason" but alot of the time it sure is hard to figure out what the reason might be. May Jason rest in peace and all of you who knew and loved him be comforted.

Its been one week since I heard the news, and I'm still without words. Being a new husband and daddy myself, tragedy like this is my greatest fear. My heart goes out to April, Hunter, and all families involved. :{

Josh I am so sorry to hear this. No matter what it's a terrible thing and a challenge to deal with. I've never had anything close to this happen in my life so it's not easy to relate. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

Vaughn
