Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) loss of fuel in filter

help please my 96 3500 4x4 will loose prime and about half of the fuel will drain out of the filter when parked and will die when running at slow highway speeds as though it is running out of fuel truck is in the shop and they want to start replacing things at random need your help and soon thanks ja roberts

The rubber return line can start leaking in air (no fuel will leak out) and cause it to loose prime. I have heard of a valve that can also cause the same problem.

Is it leaking fuel on the ground from the fuel filter? Could be the filter drain valve that is used to drain water from the fuel filter (or during filter changes) is leaking.
