HI all,

As some of you know I had my vp44 and transfer pump replaced (waranty). Aince then I have not retapped pump wire ( which is killing me) And have noticed mileage dropping from about 5something a tank to around 400 or so. Is it because of pump wire ,bad torque converter or someone siphoning diesel from my tank? Also the FP guage bounces around on the highway alot At idle it is steady at 15 but cruising it is 10 or so then it will drop to 5 then above10 and back and forth. is it normal or a bad sending unit , sending unit is attached to motor.

Thanks,

Marc

I assume you have an Edge product; I can't help you there since I run a VA.

I do know the electric senders should not be mounted on/around motor due to vibration. Buy a minerallac fitting(electric EMT conduit clamp) at Home Depot/Lowes to hold the sender and mount on the firewall next to wire grommet for windshield washer and other wiring coming from dash. At least thats where I put mine, and I've had no problems.

What are your EGT/boost readings?

Check your intercooler hose clamps maybe they didn't tighten them up after the pump replacements. Mike
