Just moved to Bozeman, Montana to work for my cousin. He's got 98. 5 24 valve with a Superchip and 4" exhaust. Here lately his truck seems to have lost a considerable amount of power when you get on the throttle, like its not getting enough fuel. I'm thinking the lift pump might be going. Just a guess. I'm more of a 12 valve man.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check for boost leaks and check to see if the wastegate is stuck closed or open, if it is stuck closed it could over boost and the ECM will de-fuel and you will see a lack of power, it could also be a MAP sensor and you may not get any codes.

let us know what you find

Graphic Man,

The only thing that i could find that would affect boost was 2 cracks in the exhaust manifold. I would think that this would negatively affect performance by creating low boost, correct?

TNowak,

My cousin said he was going to take off the superchip and see if that straightens things out. What chip did u put back in yours? I know some people that use Edge chips and are really impressed.
