History:

Installed new 50 nozzles last weekend set smarty to sw3 TQ2 RP2 TM4 and it ran great on the 300 mile trip to where I sit now. Yesterday, I restored the ECM to stock and let my buddy try the smarty. Once complete, we retored his back to stock and I downloaded the same tune back into mine

(sw3 TQ2 RP2 TM4 ) It ran for a couple of miles then it began to lose power, almost like limp mode with no cel. I pulled over and adjusted the settings to default on SW3. This gave the truck a couple minutes of rest then it was ok for about 1/2 mile and did it again. When I pull over to look around under the hood, I smell a burning type smell... almost like a clutch but its a 48re.

This morning I tuned it back to stock and it is doing the same... . almost didnt make it up a hill in town.

Boost-30 psi

EGT's- 11-1200 when I am pressing the go pedal trying to make it move under loss of power.

Trans guage- temp drops down when i put my foot in it trying to make it go under lioss of power, returns to normal temp when I pull my foot out

Engine temp- normal

Smoke- black and somewhat excessive (not blackout)

Trans fluid- not burnt but seems a bit overfilled

No CEL

I disconnected the batteries as i type this to reset the computers and will drain some of the trans fluid out.

Any ideas? I have to drive home tomorrow and i have no power!

BTW, my trans fluid is probably excessively high. I installed a Shift kit about 2K miles ago and the fluid level was spot on when I refilled after the job was complete... now all of a sudden it is too high? could it have something to do with the TQ? maybe front pump? with the trans temp fluctuating, the fluid too high and the truck not wanting to go... . sounds like a trans/TC issue to me. I am hesistant on drainnig any fluid when it was fine before.

Anyone?

I'm not well versed in transmissions, but it sounds to me like your stock trans didn't appreciate the extra power...
My converter pooped at around 35,000 miles while stock.

Dont believe it is the brakes, i checked that as i walked around the truck. The smell was rising from the space beteen the bed and the cab.

An auto that has a fluid level that gets higher (checking under the correct conditions) would indicate a pump issue or clogged filter.

Not the exhaust brake, it would still engage/disengage when asked to do so. Thinking it may be interfereing with something, I had turned it off (and on) seeing if it was the culprit.

I have been on the phone with Todd at T&C Diesel. We are trying a few things, here's hoping! Meanwhile the truck still sits dead in the water in my driveway (I did make it home somehow) with the P0251 & P0088 Codes.
