First off, I am new to the forums. Any way last night I was towing a car down the interstate for a one way 125 mile trip. On the way back with the trailer only (about a 1200lb trailer) the truck began to loose speed. I of course stepped into the throtlle, and it would only give enough power to keep the truck rolling (would not build boost, or try to). After about 1/2 mile every thing was normall. This problem would come and go getting worse every time. This morning on my way to work it did not act up. Any ideas?

P. S. You might need to know the truck has the banks power pak (came w/ the truck), and an upgraded auto trans. It is a 99 3500 4x4. I have not installed any aftermarket parts, so I don't know about the quality of work on the install of the banks power pak.

Thank You

try pulling the codes throught he odometer (cycle key on/off three times, leave in ON postition last time). See what codes come up. Chanves are it will be a P 0216... injection pump timing failure. The symptoms you describe is what mine would do... on both bad injection pumps.

I work at a dodge dealership, so I have access to use a scanner. But the check engine light has not come yet. I didn't think there would be any DTC's with out a CIL. What do yo think?

Sounds like the same problem I had on a 12v. You should probably have it replaced anyway and there is a good chance it will fix your problem.

and check for codes anyway. you may see some history, and any codes previously set will give you a "snapshot" of the sensor parameters when the event occured. worked on my 01 with a dealer's scanner.
