Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Lost 5th Gear in my '99

Week ago I lost 5th gear in my '99 QC. Pulling a gooseneck trailer with about 9500 lbs total it just give a lurch and acted like it dropped into neutral. No 5th!

I'm gonna pull it apart in the next day or so. Any hints from guys who have done this??

Get the upgraded mainshaft, fifth gear, fifth gear nut. The upgraded pilot bearing is cheap insurance.

When it's all done and you know it's done right, it will be very reassuring.
