This may have already been tried, but I would be suspect like you say of either a clogged inlet in the tank, bad fuel hose / line, or what I am wondering because this really sounds like the problem, do these trucks have inlet screens in them? I know a lot of the heavy equipment I have worked on have inlet screens on them, before the fine partical fuel filter, and in time they can gum up and when they do, the engine performs exactly like you're saying.

My bet right now is on a clogged pickup or something like that in the tank. I can't blow anything from the tank forward using air pressure like I should. I'm siphoning the tank as we speak and through the clear hose I do see some trash coming out of the tank. :)

I would like to thank everyone for all the advice and I thought I would share my findings to give everyone a good laugh on this rainy Monday.

My plan was to drop my fuel tank so I went to Home Depot and picked up some tanks to drain the 30 something gallons of diesel into since my tank is full. I also bought some siphon hose and headed home. When I got home I removed the rubber filler hose and ran the hose straight into the tank. I figured something was wrong because I couldn't siphon any fuel out then I noticed that the tip of the hose wasn't even wet. That's when it hit me, I knocked on the side of the tank and it's as empty as Paris Hilton's head. My fuel tank is empty but my fuel gauge is stuck on full. When I would run it off of the yellow blitz can I guess it would put some fuel into the truck's tank via the overflow valve and that's why I was able to drive for 20 - 30 miles each time before it died. All this work, $375 in parts and the damn truck is out of diesel.

I'm working on getting an upgraded pickup and sending unit from a local shop... please tell this to your buddies and assure them that it's real.
:D

:-laf I just filled her up and everything is back to normal except now my oil pressure guage is sitting at zero. I just replaced the sending unit because it would drop to zero for a second then shoot back up... now it's completely dead. I guess I need to rig up a real oil pressure guage just to be sure of what's really going on.

Fuel starving ?

Did I miss it ? Could the fuel filter be plugged. It will run out of power and then shut down, dirty fuel or to long since last change. ?
