Lost Boost and EGT's ????

i installed a new L/P and lost EGT's and Boost i was getting 40lb and now i get 35lb and the EGT wont go over 1000deg. with the box on level3x5

i will be installing a fp gage on the weekend but it sounds like it's fine

iam thinking wastgate or edge box, or a map

anyone run into before???

My truck suffered similar symptoms a year ago when the MAP sensor (turbo boost sensor) began failing. Power was down, boost occurred at higher rpm and maximum boost could not be achieved, EGT was lower due to reduced fueling, and I could not create smoke. A good mechanic can read the output of the MAP sensor, in millivolts I think, and a dealership mechanic will have specs of what MAP sensor output should be.



The MAP sensor is located close to the Lift Pump and it could have been damaged. My MAP sensor failed immediately after starter removal to replace the solenoid. The starter is also in the same area. Probably not a coincidence.

well i have no codes and i do think it may be a map but i have not had time to get a new one , did yours trip a map code?

Cummins makes test leads for this MAP sensor and here it is $130. 00 there might be cheaper don't have the part # handy but can find it if you would like.
